Vacation : You will begin accruing vacation the first of the month after your date of employment. Accrual is calculated at a rate of .833 days per month. This totals 10 days of accrued vacation during a 12-month period. You will begin accruing vacation at a rate of 1.25 days after five years and 1.66 after 10 years of employment. Managers and above earn 1.25 days per month (or 15 days per full calendar year) upon employment or promotion into an eligible position. Managers and above earn 1.66 days per month upon crossing their 5-year anniversary. This amount is prorated during the first calendar year of employment. Vacation must be taken during the calendar year in which it is accrued. Carryover is only allowed only during your first 5 years of employment and with your manager’s approval. Illness Policy : You are eligible for 40-hours of sick leave during each calendar year. These hours can be used in quarter-hour increments in order to accommodate doctors’ visits. Sick hours cannot be carried over to the following year with the exception of applying previously unused sick time to supplement short-term disability (if the employee is not eligible to be paid STD at the 100% level). Employees are not paid in lieu of taking the actual time off. Employees are not paid for unused sick hours upon termination. Personal Days : During your first year of employment you are eligible for two personal days if you are hired January through April. You will receive one personal day if you are hired May through August. You will not receive any personal days if you are hired September through December. After completing your first year of employment, you are eligible for two personal days each calendar year. Employees are not paid for unused personal days upon termination nor do these days roll over. |
